Back in October 2003, we published an item in our newsletter about how to negotiate the City of Toronto website to find out what will be discussed at council meetings (both City Council and Community Councils). There is a tremendous amount of information available to the public: not just the items up for discussion, but even the staff reports for each item on the agenda. It was difficult to describe in a newsletter, but now we can show you how to access that information!
You start with the schedule page. It looks like this:
From here, click on the appropriate month, and you will see a calendar with all the meetings listed:
Click on the meeting you are interested in.
This brings you to the meeting agenda. Click on the blue text “Agenda Index”.
Once you are in the index, scan through to look for any items that might be of interest. Click on any of the blue numbers next to the agenda items to see the relevant documents.
All of these documents are pdf files, so they can be printed, saved to you computer, or just read online.
